Horizontal Machining Center VS Vertical Machining Center

Today, let's talk about how to distinguish between the horizontal machining center and vertical machining center.

Structure

The vertical machining center refers to the processing center of the main shaft and the vertical settings of the workbench. The vertical X and Y axis are combined together. The Z axis is moved up and down on the column, which is suitable for small precision molds and parts processing. The larger stand is about 4 meters, which can be determined according to the specific physical objects of the processing.

The horizontal machining center refers to the processing center of the main shaft and the vertical settings of the workbench. The Z -axis support structure of Longmen is different. The Y axis is traveled between the two columns, increasing the load and processing range of the workbench.

Worktable

The table of the vertical machining center is usually a T-slot table with a cross slide structure. There are two sets of motion mechanisms responsible for the movement in the vertical direction. The X-direction feed table covers the guide rail responsible for the Y-direction feed. The worktable of the horizontal machining center is only designed to move in the X or Y direction. The worktable is generally a rotary worktable with a lattice screw hole table, and it is relatively easy to choose an exchangeable double worktable.

We have already introduced the difference between vertical machining center and horizontal machining center. You should also know more about it. WMTCNC has also launched a variety of horizontal machining centers. If you have any needs for horizontal machining centers, please contact us.
